May 27 - Memorial Day

Like most State agencies, the office of South Carolina Business Opportunities will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2013, in observance of Memorial Day.

Although the office will be closed, a SCBO will be published on May 27th. The deadline for submitting advertisements for this issue is noon, Friday, May 24th.

Advertisements are generally accepted from all state government agencies and boards, political subdivisions, public services, higher education, school districts, cities/municipalities, county governments, and hospitals in South Carolina.

There is no charge to the advertiser. Forms are available at SCBO Advertiser Forms. Although ads on the SCBO forms are preferred, narrative ads are acceptable, also. Please be aware that SCBO does not publish detailed job specifications. A SCBO ad should contain just enough information to let a vendor decide if he is interested in pursuing more information about your solicitation. All advertisers who wish to place ads in SCBO will have to summarize their specifications. Because of space constraints, SCBO reserves the right to judiciously shorten / edit any ad. Ads generally appear only once in SCBO.

Ads can be sent by attaching the ad to an email (use link provided above) or can be faxed to (803) 737-0650. A document saved as a MicroSoft Word 2000 file is preferred to a PDF file or to an ad cut & pasted in the body of an email

All advertisements for Monday's publication must be received by noon on Friday. All advertisements for Thursday's publication must be received by noon Wednesday. Ads received after noon on a Wednesday will be placed in the following Monday's (not the next day's) issue. Ads received after noon on a Friday will be placed in the following Thursday's (not the next day's) issue.

State agencies must allow 7 days to elapse between an ad's publication in SCBO and a mandatory event, such as a mandatory pre-bid conference, or the bid opening date. (Translation: A mandatory event or bid opening must occur the following Monday for solicitations advertised in a Monday SCBO, and the following Thursday for a solicitation advertised in a Thursday SCBO) Governmental entities other than State agencies submitting ads are encouraged to respect this guideline.

If you wish to have documentation that your ad appeared in SCBO, please access SCBO online.
